Basic country overviews of each country of the world. Covers geography, population, government, economy, climate, etc.

Country Commerical Guides
Country by country guides on doing business in the country - include types of enteprises and investment climate. In GLobus & NTDB.

Country Studies / Area Handbooks
Many are over ten years old; best used for geographic, historical, and cultural and social information. Milner Library also has printed copies of these books.

Deloitte International Tax and Business Guides
Highlights and more detailed Guides for each country.  Covers investment risk and labor conditions as well as tax related data.

FAO Stat - Commodities by Country
Provides agricultural statistics.

GlobalEDGE
A wide-ranging directory and data source maintained by Michigan State University. The COUNTRIES section contains individual country profiles, statistics, economics, history, culture, business risk, corporations, trade statistics, and more. Also provides links to the Country Commercial Guide for each country.  The INDUSTRIES section provides background information, risk description, trade statistics, and more about the Apparel and Textiles industry.

IBISWorld
Provides in-depth industry data and analysis. US focus, but also provides information about globalization and leading companies in each industry. Views industries narrowly; applicable industries include:  31321 - Broad Woven Fabic Mills, 31322 - Narrow Fabric Mills, 31324 - Knit Fabric Mills, 31331 - Textile & Fabric Finishing Mills, 31519 - Apparel Knitting Mills, 31521 - Cut & Sew Apparel Contractors, 31522 - Men's & Boys' Apparel Manufacturing, 313523 - Women's & Girls' Apparel Manufacturing, and 32522 - Synthetic Fiber Manufacturing.

Company and Industry Information Sources

Company Profiles in Business Source Premier (online)
     Under find articles on your topic on the Milner web site, select Business Source Premier
     Near the top of the screen, find the blue bar and select Company Profiles.
     In the search box, type the beginning of the company name and click on Browse
     Select your company and click on the link to Datamonitor Report

Lexis-Nexis Academic
Look up companies in the Business module.  Includes many foreign companies. You can also create a list of companies in a particular country and industry.

Standard & Poor's NetAdvantage - provides company and industry information for U.S. and some global companies and industries.  The Industry Survey for Apparel & Footwear has primarily US coverage. The international Industry Surveys do not cover apparel, but the Retail: Specialty does mention the apparel industry in the retail context.

10-K Reports - Companies with stock traded on US stock exchanges must file annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission.  These 10-K Reports are available online and are accessed via a database called EDGAR .  Some foreign companies file a similar report, the 20-F, which is also accessed via EDGAR.

Use ABI/INFORM Global and Business Source Premier to locate articles.
