Digitization Center

Milner Library’s Digitization Center

The Digitization Center housed and supported by Milner Library, provides digital reformatting services to the library's archives and collections. The Center functions as a resource for the Illinois State University community, non-profit groups, commercial businesses, and the community at-large. In so doing, the Digitization Center offers digital preservation and reformatting services in hopes that the items will be more accessible and will prevent the deterioration and/or loss of fragile, rare, or otherwise inaccessible objects.

Examples of the types of things that can be digitized:

  • Cultural heritage materials (i.e., artifacts, photographs, manuscripts)
  • Primary sources used for instructional purposes
  • Organizational documents (i.e., meeting minutes, reports, heavily used paper files)
  • Artwork or project materials needed for coursework or publication purposes (you must own the copyright to the work for this service)

We have the technological capability to digitize almost anything, but if you are unsure of whether your item can be digitized, do not hesitate to contact us with your questions.

Location: Milner’s Digitization Center is located on the fifth floor of the library in Room 513.

Hours of Operation: Weekdays 8:00-12:00 & 1:00-4:30
