Bibliographic Services Division: Cataloging and Records Maintenance UnitThe primary responsibility of Cataloging and Records Maintenance (CRM) is to create, obtain, and maintain bibliographic records for Milner Library's catalog (Endeavor Voyager). CRM verifies order information for the acquisition of library materials and participates in the ordering process. CRM verifies or enhances bibliographic descriptions, assigns classification and subject headings as needed and appropriate, and creates and maintains holding and item information. In addition, members of this unit also manage reports (Access) and create metadata for digital image collections (CONTENTdm). While the subunits below reflect the major workflows within this unit, in fact most individuals are cross-trained and regularly perform additional tasks that enable the Division to accomplish projects and address seasonal demands. The FAQ for Acquisitions, Cataloging, and Serials provides useful information for Milner faculty and staff. Faculty Catalogers
