Kinesiology and Recreation: Leisure, Recreation and Tourism
Milner Library subscribes to over one hundred different indexes. Selecting appropriate indexes is among the first decisions involved in research, but there may not be an obvious choice, and you will probably need to use more than one. Listed below are selected indexes which should prove valuable. SPORTDiscus - Updated quarterly, SPORTDiscus contains citations only, some with abstracts to information from periodical articles, books, conference proceedings, dissertations and theses, research papers and other publishing forms.
- Since the coverage is international, and the indexing is very comprehensive, Milner Library will not own many of the works cited in this database. To determine if Milner owns a particular source, click on the title, click on the
 button. Clicking this button will open a new browser widonw that will directly link to the the full text of the article, if it is available. If the article is not available full-text electronically, you will be given the option of searching the Online Catalog to determine whether Milner maintains a paper subscription. If Milner does not own the journal needed, use the Interlibrary Loan online request form, or come into the library to pick up order forms. - The database's records, dating from 1975 to the present, cover sports medicine, exercise physiology, biomechanics, psychology, training, coaching, physical education and fitness, and other sport- and fitness-related topics. It also provides comprehensive indexing, dating from 1949 to the present, of the Microform Publications collection of dissertations and theses of the International Institute for Sport and Human Performance at the University of Oregon.
ABI INFORM - Indexes over 1800 periodicals, including many trade publications. Coverage is of business and management topics. Updated weekly.

Academic Search Premier - Features full text for over 1,200 journals with many dating back to 1990, abstracts and indexing for over 3,000 scholarly journals, and coverage of The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and The Christian Science Monitor. Also includes coverage of over 1,700 peer-reviewed journals. .
- Many full text articles.
AGRICOLA - Coverage includes national parks and wildlife conservation.
- Only a few of the articles cited will include the full text.
Lexis Nexis Academic Universe - Categories include News, Business, Legal Research, Medical, and Reference.
- Includes citations, abstracts, and full text. Sources range from current newspapers, wire services, and news transcripts to Law Reviews and government publications.
PAIS International - Consists of citations for articles, books, conference proceedings, government documents, book chapters, and statistical directories about public affairs.
PsycINFO - Coverage is worldwide, and includes references and abstracts to over 1400 journals, dissertations, and book chapters, and books in more than 30 languages.
- Covers the professional and academic literature in psychology and relate ddisciplines including medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, and other areas.
Sociological Abstracts - Provides citations and abstractting for over 2700 scholarly journals, books, and dissertations related to the field of Sociology.

Dissertations & Theses - Electronic edition of Dissertation Abstracts covering the complete range of academic subjects appearing in dissertations from over 1,000 accredited institutions since 1861. Citations from 1980 forward also include 350-word abstracts written by the author. Most dissertations completed since 1996 are available free (user must have current ISU ULID and password). Updated monthly.
- Dissertations not available through this service can be ordered through Interlibrary Loan. Any dissertations received must be picked up in Milner Library's Interlibrary Loan Office. Be aware that not all library's will loan dissertations.

A separate report is issued for the United States, each State, and the District of Columbia. Each report contains statistics for
establishments with payroll (see separate Non employer Statistics) on the number of establishments, employment, payroll, sales, and
two data-quality items, by industry. Each state report presents the basic data items by industry for the state, for each metropolitan
area, for each county, and for each place with 2,500 inhabitants or more. The number of kinds of business shown depends on the
