Major Databases for Communication Sciences and Disorders

Click on find article on your topic to make your selection. Please note that no single database provides complete coverage for Communication Sciences & Disorders. CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health). Indexes many of the Communication Sciences & Disorder's journals.
Cochrane Libary. Provides full text sources, unique to Cochrane, that disseminates research findings of, and to, a wide international community. Primarily medical in scope but does contain sources relevent to comunication sciences and disorders. To access click on Cochrane Library after arriving at its homepage. Cochrane is licensed for one user at a time so if you can not get on wait a few minutes and try again.
Current Contents. Provides tables of contents and bibliographic data from current issues of scholarly journals, including CSD journals. Indexes journal articles, reviews, meeting abstracts, editorials, etc from 1994 to present. Updated weekly.
Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition. Academic/professional health database covering over 450 scholarly full-text nursing and CSD journals and reference books. Provides citations, abstracts, and some full text.
Medline. The primary database indexing medical journals. Also available on the Internet via
http://www.PubMed.gov PubMed includes all references found on Medline plus more. If you access PubMed via the list of Milner's databases your references will include the 'Find it' option which can be used to determine if Milner library has the source, etiher in full-text or paper format. The PubMed database is more current than the library's MEDLINE database.
ERIC. Covers research documents, journal articles and technical reports related to the field of education.
PsyINFO. The psychology literature includes information on some aspects of communication Ssiences and disorders.
PubMed. A medical database which includes references from Medline. PubMed is vailable on the Internet from
http://www.PubMed.gov However, if you access PubMed via the list of Milner's databases your references will include the 'Find it' option which can be used to determine if Milner library has the source, either in full-text or paper format.
Article First (OCLC). Covers more than 12,000 journals in many different subject areas. Some sources are available in full text.
Academic Search Premier (EBSCO). Indexes more than 1,250 journals in many different subject areas. Some articles are available in full text.
