Two Types of Article Databases
Which article database to use depends upon your topic.

1. General or Multi-subject Databases

If so, start with one of the general article databases. These cover a wide range of subjects and often index a mixture of popular and scholarly sources. This is often a good place to begin research. Examples of general databases and the kinds of articles they identify are:

Academic Search Premier
A scholarly, multi-disciplinary full text database containing full text for nearly 4,700 publications, including more than 3,600 peer-reviewed publications. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for nearly 8,200 journals in the collection.
Newspaper Source
Provides selected articles from 143 US and international newspapers. Provides citations, abstracts, and full text.
