article database to use depends upon your topic.
2. Subject Databases
- Is your topic in a particular subject area?
If so, use a subject database. Subject databases specialize in a particular subject, and the articles indexed are generally from scholarly sources. Examples of subject databases and the kinds of articles they identify are:
Business Source Premier |
Covers 960 journals on business, management, economics, finance, banking, accounting, and more. Updated weekly. Provides citations, abstracts, and full. |
Historical Abstracts |
Covers the history of the world from 1450 to the present (excluding the United States and Canada, which are covered in America History and Life). Over half a million entries in all. Currently over 2,000 journals published throughout the world are covered in the database. Updated three times per year. Provides citations, abstracts. |
PsycINFO |
Covers journal articles, book reviews, dissertations in psychology and related fields. Updated monthly. Provides citations and abstracts as well as full-text of recent articles published in American Psychological Association journals. |
